FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Avishkaar Makeathon is a challenge initiated by Avishkaar. It is a one-of-its-kind competition which aims to promote MAKING in our country at an early age. It is a celebration of science, technology and art where ambitious students can explore their passions and showcase their dream ideas to the world.
Avishkaar Makeathon happens in 3 stages:
- Ideate: Online submission of the document
- Prototyping: Online submission of the prototype video
- Showcase: 2 days exhibition #CelebrateAvishkaar in Delhi
You can participate in Avishkaar Makeathon based on your age. You cannot participate in the lower age group, however, you can always participate in the higher age group. In other words, the Avishkaar Makeathon is upward compatible. Here is the eligibility criteria:
- Junior Level: upto age 12
- Middle Level: upto age 15
- Senior Level: upto age 18
In Avishkaar Makeathon, you need to ensure that all participants in a team should match the age criteria for each level. Also, your team can represent your school .
You can use any kits or waste material to create your prototype/Innovation. There is no limitation on any kind of material.
Note: Be cautious about the safety measures.

Begin with participating in the 1st stage of the Avishkaar Makeathon if you qualify for the 2nd thne submit your video to fight for the National finale SHOWCASE in #CelebrateAvishkaar
No, you cannot participate in more than one team in a year, whereas you can change the team every year.
The Avishkaar Makeathon is an online open-innovation platform that offers an opportunity to students and young innovators to connect and collaborate, wherever they are in the world, to solve real-world problems affecting their society. The vision is to create more and more 'Makers' from our country.
There is no fee to participate in the 1st and the 2nd stage of the Avishkaar Makeathon. However, if you get selected for the 3rd stage then there is a fee to participate in the finale Showcase.

The Makers are the followers of maker culture which represents a technology-based extension of DIY culture that revels in the creation of new devices and products as well as tinkering with existing ones. The maker culture in general supports open-source hardware and it refers to the world through modern, sustainable manufacturing and industrialization.
