#CelebrateAvishkaar 2019: The Road to Destiny

#CelebrateAvishkaar – The Biggest Celebration of Science, Tinkering & Robotics was held at Thyagaraj Stadium on 14-15 December 2019. More than 250+ teams consisting of 1000+ students participate in the event.

Just to give you a scope of this mega event, more than 5000+ folks visited the stadium over the course of two days. Pretty huge! Do check out the video and share the excitement!

At the event, the National Finales of two major competitions for kids –  the IRC School League: Season 10 & the Avishkaar Makeathon were held.

More than 600+ students competed in IRC School League Nationals in three different levels – Junior, Middle and Senior split according to the students’ ages. Team Infinity from Rotary English Medium School, Khed, Ratnagiri were crowned the overall IRC League champions and booked a trip to IRC Internationals in London, United Kingdom.

Not to be left behind, 101 teams from Avishkaar Makeathon tinkered their own prototypes to create a solution that will help resolve problems plaguing our society. Occupying the outer ring of the stadium, the Makeathon stalls were buzzing with people throughout the event. Visitors checked out the ingenious creations; leaving amazed as Makeathon stole the limelight. Team Inquisitives from DAV Public School, Bhubaneswar took home the crown of Overall Makeathon Champions and would also travel to London.

MakerSpace: Where Making Happens!

#CelebrateAvishkaar 2019 was bustling with activity as participants and general audiences alike took part in various workshops at Avishkaar MakerSpace. Several workshops were organised for children like aeromodelling, 3D Printing, AR/VR, electronics and coding, robotics; big hits among the visitors. The main attraction, however, was Mountain Cycling Rush (wherein a cycle connected with LED lights was used to race). It was a crowd puller alright as kids raced each other frenetically. 

World Record Attempt Ahoy!

Apart from this, a World Record Attempt was made. In this attempt, the world’s largest logo connected with LED rope lights was created with the help of 20 volunteers. Another major highlight which made a huge pop was ‘Avishkaar Aurora’. Constructed by the Avishkaar team with the help of hundreds of kilometres of LEDs, it was a dazzling light and sound show which enthralled the stadium audience.

All in all, it was an event to remember. Till next year then!
